Wet Fleshy Heart...

I decided to go back to my heart and try create the wet fleshy effect using pant and liquid latex,

This is me dying Ecro Fleece, it will soon cover the cloth Cylinder around my neck below and Julies head...:D

This is what the cloth cylinder "tentacle" turned out like,

These images are from a craft fair, Patti which  My Tutor Liz goes to every year, she gave me these images cause she felt they reminded her of my work due to fact i use fabric.....

continuation of my Angel veins idea..:D

This is the beginning of my angel veins sculpture, I used chicken wire, cardboard and news paper....and a lot of PVA glue...:)

and masking tape....

In this page of my sketch book my friend Meg holds my unfinished sculpture to give you the idea of how I would turn this into a wearable piece...also the rough sketch..:D

Here I began to cover it completely in newspaper and masking tape...

Here are plans and photo of it suspended on a wooden support painted white....I painted it white so it wouldn't take from the sculpture in the white corridors of the college,

Here I play with the idea of covering it in felted wool....so I made a few swatches using wool to mimic the tissue of the heart....

This is ecrim fleece and latex mixed with red paint...creates a really bloody effect,

My first self taught attempt at weaving...

My first self taught attempt at English Smocking...

This is 6 separate pieces of finger knitting woven together...

The last 3 pictures shows my First self taught attempt at Lattice Smocking...I did quite well..:D

This is from my contextual notebook, all of these sculptural pieces were made completely from paper....the artist names are Lyndi Saler, Georgia Russel, Gary Harvey, Riki Moss and Noriko Ambe....all these and more can be found in a an amazing book called "Slash",

Examples of embroidery mimicking organic surfaces, also from my contextual...

Motion and Movement Angel veins and Patterns....

After looking at the heart,I looked at Gunter Van Hagens work, I loved the heart shown above and I began to think of the veins surrounding the heart(Angel Veins) and the amount of moving blood flowing through them,

Angel Veins,

Angel Veins,

Close up of Angel Veins,

This is me experimenting with wire a fabric to create the effect of Angel veins, I used a reflective red fabric, Florist wire and blue wool,

I also decided to look more closely at the heart from a microscopic point of view,

The top 3 pictures are creating the effect of the heart muscle close up, i felt the 3 different stages while i made it were  interesting,

I also noticed while watching a documentary the similarities between the pattern of the Angel Veins, the heart muscle and Rice(Paddy) Fields in china, which were made over a period of 8,000 by mans movement,

Pattern of a rice field,

Pattern in white,

The pattern in red,
