First Impressions, "Birds of prey",

Well my first Project to get in 2nd year fashion was titled First impressions, and through research and brain storming I decided to look at birds and particularly birds beaks. I began by placing interesting shapes on the body to come up with my collection.

Crocheting a blanket project for my unborn neice..:)

This is like one sixth of the overall blanket its made up of BabyBamboo wool, using the double crochet stitch of each patch. In this picture there are 30 different patches of purple and silver and 20 crochet flowers placed were four patches meet.

This is a picture of the flowers before there put on the main blanket, I plan to do around 150 more square and place a border around the finished piece....I don't recommend BabyBamboo wool, its really good quality wool but for €4:50 per ball you don't get allot.....

Construction of garment.....

I first started by boning my polyester satin,

 

 

I then stiched on a tube on the inside and inserted wire and acetate to help give the piece structure..

 

I then cut down the top boning and wire and stitched down the excess fabric on the inside.... 

 This is what it looks like before the balls(chibori) and the play pin balss wrapped in satin....
